Carbide lump hammer
- With Hickory handle
- Available in 1kg, 1.5kg, 2kg and 2.5kg versions – 1 kg 26 cm 2.5 kg 60 cm all other approx 35 cm long (14 “). The blade is 40mm wide except for the 2.5kg version which is 50mm.
- Type B1 – one 8mm tungsten carbide blade at each face, arranged diagonally
- Delivered as a right handed tool but can be made into left handed tool by reversing head
Instructions
– On uneven surfaces it is advised to hit lightly until the full width of carbide is in contact with the stone
– Use the correct size
– Hit with the full width of the tool
Grinding advice
– Do not grind the carbide too sharp
– After grinding, give an edge to the corner
– Do not overheat. Do not quench
– Hold the chisel steady against the grinding disc

Tool care advice to extend the lifespan of the shaft: before first use all wooden handled hammers should be lightly sanded and raw linseed oil liberally applied (especially on the ends). This should be repeated when required.
